Freelance Computer Technician

A freelance computer technician is a skilled individual who provides technical support and services to computer users. They are typically self-employed and work from home, though they may also work for a company on a contract basis. Freelance computer technicians must be extremely knowledgeable about a wide range of computer hardware and software, and they must be able to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems. In addition, they must be able to communicate effectively with both end users and other technical staff. A freelance computer technician typically charges by the hour for their services, but they may also offer package deals for certain types of support.

Beginning at the start of 2022, I chose to pursure a side venture of freelance work in computers. Recognising the potential to gain experience and earn money, I decided that it was worth a try. At first, my scope of work was small, assisting only close friends of my family. Over time, word-of-mouth refferals started to build my client base. As a result, I have experienced a range of environments from an individual home to a small business office.

Some things I have worked on

• Re-designing a home network to optimize for speed and bandwidth
• Traveling to answer support tickets
• Providing consultations to clients who are looking to have more advanced services done
• Custom building computers to clients' prefrences
• Correcting errors regarding network printers not connecting
• Implementing a backup system for a small business
• Providing tier-1 support to end users in a small business
